Any good suggestions for medieval fantasy books?

I am not familiar with the author or work you mentioned, but I have found The Camulod Chronicles by Jack Whyte to be an excellent series. It is a retelling of the Arthurian legend based more on history than fantasy, set in Britain around 500 A.D., right after the Roman pullout. The first book of the series is The Skystone. Highly recommended.
