Hows does a guy like me get involve in quality community service programs?

it doesnt seem that a person like me who is very determined to doing something good like joining americorp or peace corp cause i applied for several americorp programs and dont seem to get accepted cause i dont have experience even though i have great desire to be apart of something special and something i can be proud of and im willing to do any kind of training they ask me to do and go to any location at all but i guess having pion and desire doesnt do it cause i applied for americorp like crazy, had one phone interview and some interest from another one and ignored by alot and accepted by none. Even programs with not so good financial benefits where the stipend wouldnt be enough and id have to get a second job doesnt seem to want to accept me even though i would be willing to do that. so my question is where does a pionate guy who has desire to be apart of this and am not in the position to go to college to get experience. to me i would think that a program that doesnt have good financial benefits and dont give you much to live on and youd have to get a 2nd job, it would seem to me that they shouldnt be so picky but they must be so what does a guy like me do? how do i get involved in this with no experience?
