I have old photo negatives in various formats, 2x3" to 35mm. What would be the best & safest to store them?

The negs span from about 1930s onwards.. formats are from fairly large ...looks like maybe 2x3" to 35mm... I want to protect them from degradation if possible. Any tips would be welcomed. Thank you.
