Question to all Wicca practioners?

How long should I continue to burn sage to block negativity in my home. The negativity is really starting to get to my husband, and every time I do a purification rite, it seems that within a few days the negativity is back. Should I burn it daily, weekly, monthly, or should I do the rite all the time ( don't really want to ).
