How significant is the coral bleaching predicted for 2010?

Some people are nothing but total idiots to think that a 250 million year old species that outlived the dinosaurs and survived global disasters the like we cant even contemplate will become extinct because of a little extra CO2 and ociated tiny minute temperature increase... how deranged are these silly people?
