What Instrument Would Best Suit Me?

I love exploring the world of instruments and would like help finding the next one to try out. I prefer woodwinds and strings, though I'll try absolutely anything. Ideally, I would like to have something that can create a soulful, meditative sound, mysterious even. But not something that lacks in playability. I don't want all the notes as say a 12 string guitar, but nothing as limited as a hand drum. Another ideal feature would be its intuitiveness, such as a melodic minor scale on a bamboo flute. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
